What is a Premises Licence Review?

A premises licence review is an application to the local licensing authority to consider whether a particular premise is being managed and operated in accordance with their licence and the terms of the Licensing Act 2003, and to consider taking appropriate action.

Who can make an application for review?

Under the Licensing Act 2003 a responsible authority, or any other person, can make an application for the review of a premises licence. The Immigration Act 2016 updated the list of responsible authorities to include the Home Office (Immigration Enforcement).

How can we help?

  • We specialise in immigration enforcement powers and the illegal working civil penalty regime.

  • If the Home Office (Immigration Enforcement) have made an application to review your premises licence we can ensure that any representations made by Immigration Enforcement are a true and fair reflection of the situation.

  • We are able to conduct an in-depth investigation into your case, including the immigration operation conducted at your business premises, and produce a detailed report to be submitted to the local authority in support of your case.

  • We can provide representations* at the review hearing in support of your case. This specialist support has positively impacted a number of our clients cases by ensuring that the review committee fully understand the situation and the applicable immigration legislation.

*Our representations are normally made in addition to a specialist licensing representative. We have built relationships with high quality representatives and can help you find the right specialist to support your case.
